Experienced Care
Dr. Comfort Tebogo Fakude is a Medical Specialist in Ophthalmology in Private Practice, holding a Fellowship in Ophthalmology (FCOphth) from the College of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) and a Master of Medicine (MMed) degree from the University of Pretoria. He is an active member of the Ophthalmology Society of South Africa (OSSA) and the South African Vitreo-Retinal Surgeons (SAVRS).
Dr. Fakude actively contributes to departmental academic meetings in Ophthalmology and has played a significant role in the training of junior doctors, specializing in a range of surgical techniques including corneal transplants, cataract surgery, vitreo-retinal surgery, oculoplastic procedures, strabismus surgery, and corneal cross-linking procedures.
A passionate advocate for eye care in underserved communities, Dr. Fakude has been actively engaged in cataract outreach programs across South Africa, serving as a surgeon for the South African National Council for the Blind (SANCB) and performing over 4000 cataract surgeries nationwide. He was a finalist for the Clinix Health Excellence Awards in 2024.
